Message from the Mayor

Message from the Kalibo Mayor

Raymar A. Rebaldo
Mayor, Municipality of Kalibo
Kalibo
, Aklan

Mayor Rebaldo

The festive month of January has made itself known as early as November with the beat of the drums, the distinctive tune of the lyre and the unmistakable shouts of “Hala Bira” in the streets of Kalibo echoing the incomparable, often-coped yet unsurpassable mother of all Philippine Festivals, the Kalibo Ati-atihan Festival.

This festival has several distinctive features that even put to shame New Orlean’s Mardi Gras in this part of the world starting with the unique street dancing and merrymaking where no one is considered an audience because through the trance-like beating of the drums and melodic tune of the lyres, everyone will be drawn into the throng of crowd to participate.

My commendations to the Aklan Ati-atihan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Incorporated for your endless support and commitment in the progress of the economic life of this town and the promotion of the Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-atihan Festival not only nationwide but throughout the world through your website at www.ati-atihan.net.

Best wishes on all your activities and programs.
